I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time. I finally got one, and wish I had done it sooner! It adds a little snazz to my basic practice-wear, and would also work great as part of a formal costume. It’s the same soft stretchy fabric that the other faux assuit items come in. The fringe hangs/twirls perfectly! I got one in white, now I need one in black too! The stretch in the fabric makes it accommodate all sizes. I have wide hips (I am on the cusp of M-L in other Melodia bottoms) and this fit great with extra room in the tie.

I first saw this on my dance teacher and instantly wanted one of my own. The long fringe accentuated her shimmies and moved with her, and the faux assuit went well with any outfit she wore. On stage, it added an extra dimension to our outfits and made our skirts look amazing. Love the soft fabric, and how easy it is to clean, and the many ways it can be worn on the body. I would consider this a belly dance staple to have with you to take from the dance studio to stage.

This has a lovely stretch and grip to it making it a very versatile hip belt! I love that it feels so much lighter than I thought it would. My only disappoint is in the spacing of the cut fabric. Some of them are spaced further apart than others and because the fabric is stretchy it makes them look even more spaced out when put on. The cut ends are uneven too and looks chunky- I was expecting a machine cut streamer or a clean line cut and I was wrong about that. I also wouldn't recommend this for hips larger than 38" if you want the streamers to sit across your entire hip area. Love the Gold on black it's my favourite.

I ordered the black with gold shimmy shawl ... it is so soft and pretty !!! It moves with your every move and swings/flares out and creates a beautiful silhouette as you dance. Going to order it in the black and silver! Beautiful design.

This shawl is beautiful . The fabric is soft with an incredible drape that flows better than I could have imagined. The fringe flies out during spins and vibrates during shimmies. The shawl is stretchy enough to hug your curves but has enough structure to be secure and not distort the stunning assuit pattern. The metallic design catches the light in a shimmering way. This has become my new favourite accessory.
